It was one of those days in church where I just wanted to get up and leave. It's so hard when they talk about eternal families and temple marriage and I'm sitting there wondering why mine didn't work or what I did wrong. I'm consumed with frustration and anger that I don't even want to be there. Which is a terrible attitute cause I know that's where I need to be.
Kyle called to talk to Britt today. That's another hard thing for me...it sucks to be honest. It brings back a lot of emotions and anger that I wish would go away. Britt is so funny on the phone I love listening to her. She's started saying a ton of words and repeating some of the not so good words from me :) oops better watch that one!
Off to my sisters to eat some dinner!

The Journey not the Destination

I've been a blog slacker these past couple of months, but I've decided to kick it in the butt and start up again. I've been going through a divorce and its been nothing but easy. Its taken some time to adjust and get back on me feet. I've decided to post about some of my feelings, emotions, and frustrations as I experience motherhood and working as a single mother. I figured it would be good therapy :). Let me just say to all those single mothers out there, I don't know how you do it!!! I have been blessed with a wonderful family who has helped me out so much, and it has been a huge blessing. But when it comes down to it...it has been one of the hardest things I have had to experience.
A couple of years ago, when I was going through a difficult time, I remember waking up, going down stairs, and finding this quote on my fridge that my mom had posted. It was just what I needed at the moment and I loved it. Well once again my mom has secretly given me that quote to remind me once again. She gave me a book for Mother's Day (A Mother's Book of Secrets), and I was reading it last night and sure enough, there was that same quote. Hope it brightens your day like it did mine.
"No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude and humility. I guess this has been a hard concept for me to grasp and I'm tormented with the "Why" questions but I just need to have more faith that things will work out like they are suppose to.

My First Motocross

A couple weeks ago, I experienced Motocross for the first time. I've always enojoyed watching dirt bike jumping and when they do the crazy tricks :), but I've never watched racing. Carlos took his brother for his birthday and I was lucky enough to join them. It was so much fun :)

Last week, I tood Britt to Sugar House Park to feed the ducks. It was such a nice day outside I just couldn't pass it up. We had such a good time.

My Felted Slippers

During thanksgiving, we went down to St. George and my sister in law had these fabulous fitted felted slippers that her friend made her, so of course I had to buy the pattern and try them out myself....here are the results. Lucky me our washer broke, so I went and borrow my Grandma Rees' and in the mean time I was able to make one of her wonderful ribbon trees :) Super fun

On Sundays when the family comes up, the grandkids always convince my dad to saddle up the horses and take them for a ride in the field. They all sit by the fence waiting patiently (right) for their turn. It one of my favorite things....spending time with the family on a nice fall day.

End of Summer Fun

Well its a little late, but here's all the pictures from our summer adventures in August. We went to the fair in Heber and Coalville, raspberry picking in Payson, and the Seelos family reunion on Layton.

Picking raspberries was my wonderful idea ha....after 4 long, hot hours of picking I finally had enough to make a couple jars of jam. Its all about the experience I guess, and we had a good time.

Kyle left for work so I had Brittin there all by myself...She was getting so bored so she started eating dirt, leaves and any raspberries she could find. She was a complete mess by the time we were done.

Brittin will be 10 months on the 6th. She is growing up so fast and a couple of days ago she took 3 solid step!!! She decided to bypass the whole crawling thing and just go straight to walking... stubborn little girl!!! Sure love her though. My sister took some family pictures so I'll have to post the more professional ones soon :)

For the 24th, we decided to take a trip to Flaming Gorge. It was an interesting weekend to say the least but we made a lot of family memories and it definitely will be a trip to remember. It was fun getting to spend time with my family and have a little vacation.

The middle of July we had a play date with some of my friends from high school and their kids. We took a trip to the Zoo. Brittin had a hard time see the monkies and some of the smaller animals but she loved the elephants and the giraffe.

I'm really behind on blogging (its a little hard when you don't have a computer) and I can't believe summer is coming to an end :( So here I am playing catch up and posting all our summer adventures!!

To celebrate the 4th, we went for a 4-wheeler ride up Daniels Canyon with Kyle's side of the family. We packed a lunch and rode around on a bunch of trails. Afterward, we stopped at the Dairy Keen for some yummy ice cream and chilled at the in-laws.

Being a mom has been quite the learning experience and definitely no easy task, but its moments like these that make the hard times all worth it. Its so much fun watching Brittin grow and develop. She has mastered dada and now she is working on some form of Bob ha. Hopefully "Mom" won't be too far off. She loves to pucker up her lips and blow spit out of her mouth. Lately she's started walking with my help, and honestly I don't think she has any desire to crawl...Stubborn little girl.

I can't believe June is almost over!!! Where is the summer going!!! Kyle's been busy at work and Brittin and I have been keeping ourselves busy going to Lagoon, swimming, and of course walks in the park. We finally found a cute little house in Heber to rent so we'll be moving withing the next week. (Moving....I love it!) I'm sad to leave Morgan. I've really enjoyed living there, and its going to be hard starting all over again. But it will be nice to be with Kyle more. Life is good :)

Last saturday we hung out at Deer Creek lake. It was a beautiful day, but the water was still pretty chilly.

So much has happen, but so little time to write...any way Memorial day weekend was awesome! Kyle was home for 4 days straight yea!!! We had a cookout at my parents on Sunday then on Monday I went to my grandma LaVaun's for another cookout. Might I just add, I love being around family. My birthday passed by pretty uneventful which was a little disappointing. Kyle was gone to Provo for work so me and Brittin just hung out. The Big 24!!! I got a lot of birthday wishes so thanks to everyone!

Kyle's Trip to Taiwan

On Monday, Kyle got back from a 10 day business-like trip to Taiwan. He served his mission there and was able to visit a couple of the families he taught. He said it was kind of like being home again, and he had such a fun time. It was fun to see familar faces, eat the food, and all the smells brought back memories of his mission days. It was so hard having him gone that long, and I'm happy to have him home again. Maybe next time, Brittin and I can go with him!!! I'm just going to tell what I know about the pictures, which isn't a lot...but you get the idea :) Happy Reading

Easter was a ton of fun this year...snow and all. Of course, it was Brittin's first easter, and although she doesn't get the concept yet, we just love having her with us. We ate breakfast at my parents and it was so yummy. We wateched a little conference then headed out for our annual easter egg hunt. I just love this time of year. It will always and forever remind me of track season but it means summer is getting close and no more snow!!! Ha we live in Utah snow comes in June I forget. Things have been going so well and I feel so blessed. Kyle is rockin at his job. He has only been there about 4 weeks now and already he's been top in the company for sales. He works in Provo for those of you who don't know so we see each other about twice a week. He stays at his parents house a couple of the night and with brothers and friends the other nights. We've been looking for a nice rental in Heber or Orem area so if anyone knows of places let me know! I would love to be closer to Kyle and actually feel like we are married again, but as for now Morgan is nice and cheap!!!
Brittin is almost 6 months now and about 15 pounds...quite the little chunk monk. I'll have to post some pictures soon. Lately she will puker up her lips and blow out of them like she is blowing out a cake and it is hilarious!!! She is such a cutie and I just love her so much. She's still not sleeping through the night and I'm finding that my sleep deprivation is getting worse and worse as the months go on...and I'm losing patience!!! so if any of you know some sleep tactics please share them...the baby whisperer is not working for me.
As for me I love being a mom as challenging as it is at times. I'm keeping myself busy with crafts and other projects. Kyle and I started teaching the 13-14 year old sunday school lessons. Its been fun getting back into teaching. I really enjoy it.

Life is good...We are so blessed! Hope all is well with everyone!

My sister took some more pictures of Brittin about a week ago, and as always, she did an amazing job!!! I'm so blessed to have such a talented sister and beautiful baby :). There has been so much going on and definitely a lot of changes. Kyle started a new job in Provo on Monday. I'm so sick of moving so I convinced him to stay in Morgan for a couple more months and if everything works out, we'll eventually move closer to his work. Brittin is getting to be quite the chunk :). She had her 4 month old shots today (why must we torture little babies and their mothers????) and a check up. She weighs about 14 pounds now and is a healthly girl. I'm saying busy crocheting, sewing, making more bows, and keeping up on all my TV shows ha ha. Life is good and I am so blessed!

Here goes a ton of pictures!!!

We blessed Brittin on the first sunday in January. My mom made her dress and it was so beautiful. Kyle did an awesome job, and it was such a fun day to spend with family. Definitely a day to never forget.

So I've taken up crocheting in the last little while and this was one of my first hats I made for Brittin. Now she has about 4 of them. :) I've also been doing a ton of sewing. So far I've made Brittin shoes, 2 pairs of pants and hopefully a dress here soon.

Christmas was a blast this year. We spent Christmas Eve in Coalville. We went to my Grandma Rees' on Christmas Eve for the traditional christmas party then spent the night at my parents. Christmas morning we opened presents with the family then headed up to my grandma LaVauns for breakfast. That afternoon we went down to Heber to hang out with the Tanners.

I love the Holiday season and I have so much to be thankful for; a wonderful husband and family, a beautiful baby girl, the gospel, a place to live....and oh so much more! This year we went to the Tanners for Thanksgiving and it was delicious!!!

Well its official...I'm finally a mom!! Brittin Micall was born Tuesday October 6th. It all started last saturday when we were moving. I apparently broke my water and didn't even know it. Well I could tell something was different and I was having a couple of contractions, but nothing too serious that I thought could be labor. So Sunday passed uneventful, and then Monday, Kyle and I went to Layton for his interview and a BBQ in Lehi with some of our friends. I was still leaking some fluids by that night so my mom told me to go to the hospital and get it checked out.
We got to McKay Dee at 11:30 Monday night and they ran a test to check. I for sure thought I was heading home, but the nurse came in and said it was amniotic fluid and they would be starting me. I was kind of in shock and totally not prepared. They got me in the room and hooked up on the medication. By 2:30 I couldn't take the pain anymore and they gave me the epidural (ha whoever thought natural is the way to go is CRAZY!!)....By 7, Tuesday morning I was ready to push. Kyle made it about one push and he had to sit down cause he was about to pass out. He had to watched from the couch the rest of the delivery... I felt bad for him. After a little communication problem, my mom showed up and was there to help. I'm so glad she came cause I don't think I would have been able to make it without her help. Labor is definitely not an easy thing. The dr. came in at 9:10, I gave one final push, and she was out by 9:14.
It sure has been an emotional roller coaster ever since we left the hospital. It makes me so sad that the whole thing had to happen so fast and that my little baby is 3 days old already. Sometimes I wish I could just be pregnant again. But I guess that's how it goes and I just have to enjoy every little moment I get to spend with her. And here comes the tears again!!! Enjoy

Coming in at a whopping 6 lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches long our beautiful baby girl!

Finally here....after a long night and 2 hrs of pushing Brittin finally arrived at 9:14 am on October 6th....3 days before her due date.

We finally made it home. Kyle and I were so happy to have Brittin there with us we couldn't help but get a little emotional...thus the puffy red eyes.

These past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy in our family. We've had two weddings (Linzee's and Jackie's), we celebrated my Grandma's 80th Birthday, and I had my baby shower. Enjoy the pics....

I'm down to my last 2 1/2 weeks of being pregnant...yea!!! The baby is about 6 pounds now and everything is looking good. Kyle and I are getting really excited for the baby to finally arrive, and it seems so crazy that in a couple of weeks I'll be carrying around my own baby instead of nieces and nephews. But thanks to everyone for all the gifts and cute outfits and for my Mom and my Sister for throwing me the shower.

Here I am opening gifts...this was a "bimbo" chair ....not really cause that's what I kept calling it, but is was a bumbo chair :) so cute!

On Saturday, we celebrated my Grandma Rees' 80th birthday at the church. We had some yummy food and cake, and a ton of people from the commuity showed up to show their support. Its neat to think she has made it this far with all the health problems she's had. I know it hasn't been easier on her, but we are glad she is still around!!! I'm lucky to call her my grandma!!!

I feel terrible! Its my husband's birthday and he didn't even get to open a card or a gift from his very own wife! I thought I would have some time to pick him up something, but things have been a little crazy lately and that just didn't happen. He's working all day then heading down to Monroe to go hunting with his dad for the weekend so I won't even get to redeem myself until Tuesday when he gets home. So Kyle and I are a little cheap...ha okay a lot cheap! Whenever we can get into something for free, we do :) We went to a Weber football game on Friday night and instead of paying to get in, we waited outside of the gates until the end of the 3rd quarter when they stopped taking tickets...here we are trying to keep ourselves entertained.

On the 14th, Kyle and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. It's so crazy to think that it's already been a year....it sure goes by fast :( I married an amazing man and I'm so grateful to have him as my companion.

Kyle had to work on Friday and then go back to work Saturday morning, so we weren't able to go very far....But we still had a lot of fun :) We ate at Iggy's for dinner, got some amazing Farr's Ice cream, and watched 17 again.

Lake Powell

Now I can finally say....I've been to Lake Powell....yea!!!! We headed out on Sunday morning around 10. We loaded up the car, checked the oil, windshield fluid, and the tires and we were off for a couple days of vacation :)

Sure enough...we were not even two miles from our house when we heard this funny noise coming from the back left side of the car. Kyle and I both looked at each other with dread and disgust. No way....this was not happening to us again!!!! We pulled over and to our awful surprise, we had a flat tire! For those of you who forgot...Kyle had to replace two of his tires on the way up from St. George when we moved. So we are not to fond of the whole flat tire crap!!!! To make a long story short...we put the spare on my car, drove back to the house and switched it with Kyle's P.O.S. 1990 honda. It was a noisy ride down, but we were just glad we didn't have more tire problems, and it got us to powell :)

We took a little boat ride up Navajo canyon. We were all dying from the heat so we stopped and cooled off in the water for a bit. And yes Kyle you are King of the World :)

Kyle wake boarding. He did awesome for not boarding in about 2 years! It was hard watching everyone wake skate and wake board and not being able to do anything...but me and my little girl did hop on the tube for a nice little leasure ride.

We left a day early so Kyle could get back to work, and the 7 hour drive home about killed me, but thanks to Kari and Doug for letting us ruin their family vacation and tag along! We had such a blast :)

Pioneer Day

Pioneer Day was so much fun...Can I just say one more time that I love this time of year!!! We went to the Ogden parade with all the Tanner's. Its quite the tradition...same spot every year and everyone brings stuff to eat for breakfast. Yum!!! After the parade, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Tanner's for a BBQ. We stayed and visited all afternoon and even took a little nap at their place. Later that night, we went to the new Harry Potter movie with Kyle's parents. We didn't go to the Ogden rodeo with the rest of the family since we went earlier in the week, so Kyle and I got some food and I watched him long board in the parking lot at weber state. :)

Raptors Game

Last Thursday night, Kyle and I went to a Raptors game in Ogden with some friends. It was such a perfect night and we had a blast!!!

Last weekend, we traveled to Heber for a family camp-out at the Heber Girl's Camp. It was definitley a short stay, but Kyle and I had a really good time. Its so good to be close to family on all sides...we love it!!!

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays and I'm so thankful that I live in this great country!!!! .....fun, family, rodeo, and fireworks..there's nothing like it!!!

My Latest Obsessions

Well here is the start of my daughter's bow collection. I went over to my sister's house last week and she showed me how to make them and ever since then, I've been obsessed with buying ribbon and making these things. Its been a little hobby for me and something to keep me busy.

My sister-in-law showed me how to make these fabric flowers. They're so fun to make and really easy! My family keeps asking me how many bows and flowers can your poor baby wear...."One in every color and one for every outfit" ha ha

And here ya go Natalie a pic just for you!! A couple of weeks ago, I went to enrichment in St. George and I made this car-seat canopy It turned out better than I had expected expecially for how long its been since I've even touched a sewing machine.

Zion's National Park

The weekend before we moved, Kyle and I decided to take a trip to Zion's. We lived what....30 minutes from the park...and we waited until the last weekend to go. It was so pretty and we wished we would have gone a couple more times earlier in the year, but oh well.

The trail was about 3 miles total to make it to the last pool and back.

Just for the record I hate moving and if I could avoid it at all cost....I would! For those of you who didn't know, Kyle got transferred at Goldenwest up to the Clinton office. So within a two week time period we are up North once again. Its good to be home, but of course I will always miss certain things about St. George. Kyle's parents came down and we loaded a whole trailor full of stuff (Thank goodness we don't have that much stuff yet). They stayed and helped me finish cleaning the house while Kyle went to work and I'm so grateful for their help. On the way up Kyle's stupid car gave us trouble again, and we had to replace 2 more tires :( but we're here now and hopefully everything will work out....

Happy 23rd Birthday to me....Yipee!! I spent the morning laying by the pool, and then unfortunately I had to go into work.. bummer. But it was still a great birthday and my wonderful, thoughtful husband made it really special. His rendition of the Happy Birthday song is amazing...you should ask him to sing it for you one time. ha ha He came and picked me up after work to take me to dinner. He surprised me (he's always good at that) and took my car to get the windows tinted. I loved it!!! I've been wanting to do it for a while and just haven't gotten around to it. Here are a couple of pics from my fun night!

Well we thought we would try Made it Brazil cause we've heard its really good....we walked through the door and it smelled like road-kill...it was like they had a deer hide burning in the kitchen and we both couldn't take the smell...so we left :)

Kale and Kayla's Wedding

Last weekend we headed up north for Kyle's brother's wedding. We spent Friday night hanging out with Klint and Christine in Draper. We ate at the cheesecake Factory, um their cheesecake..... definitely not $7 worth, but what do I know, I'm a tight wade now days. We went back to Klint and Christine's apartment and watched Taken. I love that show! Saturday we got up early and headed to the temple for the wedding. It was my first time actually sitting through a sealing and it crazy to think that only 9 months ago it was Kyle and I were the one's getting married! After the reception Kyle and went to a Chinese Market and bought some of my new favorite candies there called Hi-Chews and they taste a lot like mambas. Anyway we went to the luncheon and the reception afterwards in Midway. Saturday night I went to Park City with Corey Ann and had a girls night out. Yea!!! Sunday was a crazy day and we spent all morning pulling sick cows out of the swam and vacinating the herd. We ended up losing two of them to some weird fever. I about passed out when one of the sick cows took a nose dive right on its neck! And to think I wanted to be a vet. After the cows were done we went to the house and had a BBQ, then Kyle and I headed back to St. George. I think I cried for about 3 1/2 hours on the way home and Kyle was about to kill me. Its hard leaving my family and I really miss home :( My niece Kira wouldn't even look at me to say bye. I think she's mad at me for abondoning her and moving...it about broke my heart!!!

Well I figured its about time I let everyone know! Kyle and I are having a baby girl. My due date is October 9th.... We are so excited!!

On Sunday after church, Kyle and I decided to go spend the night at his parents house in Monroe ( it's a little town out of Richfield) It was kind of random and spur of the moment, but we had so much fun just spending time with each other. It was about a 2 hour drive to get there. We ate dinner, watched TV, went to bed then got up the next morning and came home.

Oh and this was the fun part! We took Kyle's old beater car and we were about a mile from the exit when the tire started making funny noises. We were both laughing so hard cause we were saying how funny it would be if we broke down...and we did. Luckily the tire didn't pop so we were able to drive on it. We were going about 10 miles and hour and the last 4 miles home took us about a half an hour. But we were grateful we made it home safe cause it could have been a lot worse. Good times!

Last Thursday, we hung out with some of Kyle's buddies from Heber. We ate dinner then headed to Fiesta Fun. We hit a couple round in the batting cages, then went and watched She's the Man at Craig and Lisa's house.

A couple of weeks ago, my parents and Jaxon came down to visit. It's always good to have family it town and we had so much fun while they were here. We went 4-wheeling, had a BBQ in the park and even went clay pigeon shooting in Mesquite.

During spring break, Kyle and I went to southern California. It was a lot of driving, but good to get a way.

Well I know...I know...its been what, at least a month since I've posted anything. I would have loved to post our pictures of Spring Break in San Diego, but unfortunately I have, shall I say, miss placed my camera aka lost my camera and don't know what's happened to it. I'm hoping it will show up sooner or later.

Anyway, Kyle and I had a really good time. We spent some time on Coronado Island, went to SeaWorld (It was Kyle's first time) and we also went to the San Diego temple while we were down there. It was lots and lots of driving, but it was good to get away.

Kyle and I are still surviving down here in St. George. We are going to the George Strait concert in Vegas next monday night and we are totally stoked!!!! That's pretty much the update ha ha ha Hope all is well!!!

Hot Dogs and Marshmallows

On Saturday, Cody and Jana came down to have a fire and roast some hot dogs. It took us forever to find a spot and we ended up just pulling off the side of the road past Hurricane a little ways. Up North we know all the secret spot, and fire wood is easy to come by. But down here we have a little harder time finding places to go.

Kyle and Cody were tearing down every bush they could find to start a fire and finally we got one going. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows...good times....then the boys went off with the gun to look for some rabbits! Of course they brought a dead one back as their trophy. (I hate dead animals) We rapped things up around 10 and headed back home.

Well Kyle and I decided it was time to go through some of our stuff and donate a little to the D.I.
We had a lot of fun and found some crazy stuff. I tend to hold on to things for a very long time....like this over-sized cat-in-the-hat shirt that I've had for what.....lets see now....10 years now. But I just can't seem to get rid of it. There something about the way the red and white strips bring out my eye that I just can't let it go...ha ha ha. I had to keep telling Kyle that it was time to get rid of his 20 pairs of soccer shorts that he's had since high school. Boy does he love his glory days back in high school :) Anyway our closet is a lot less cluttered and hopefully someone can find some joy in our old stuff.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Its been so long since I've been able to sit down and post something, and unfortunately I don't really have the time to put pics up. Lately my life has been consumed with ordering products, spending money, spending more money, oh and going out and spending more money for my spa. Kyle keeps telling me this is turning out to be way more expensive then we both planned. But its finally coming together. YEA!!!!! For those of you who didn't know, I'm opening an esthetics place in St. George. Its been a long process and a lot of work, but its finally coming together. I have my first appointment tomorrow so hopefully I can start building up my clientele.

Kyle and I are doing really well. We went to a session at the temple last night (that was long over do) and it was amazing! I love it how we are so close to one and we can go a lot. Kyle finally got in a soccer league so every Wednesday nights he has games. Work and school are going well and that's about it for us. Hope all is well!

Since we've been down here I keep telling Kyle he needs to find a soccer league to play on, and after 5 months its finally happened! Yea! They have drop ins every Friday night so we went and checked it out. Kyle had to play with a bunch of hispanic (his favorite), and he had a little bit of a hard time communicating with them (right honey :) ), but of course he was awesome!
The owner found him a team to play on every Wednesday, so I'll keep ya posted.

Christmas Fun

Christmas Eve Kyle and I went out and ate at Ruby River. Then he surprised me and took me to the Marriott where we spent the night. We got up, opened presents at the hotel, ate breakfast and went hot tubbing. That night we went to Bridget and Mike's house, ate dinner and watched a movie.

We traveled up north on the 26th....and lets just say our weekend was full of family, parties, hangin out with friends....oh and did I mention Kyle had to get stitches after playing 4 minutes in the Alumni tournament in Coalville. But it was a dang good 4 minutes wasn't it babe!!! ha ha ha Its always fun to go home and spend time with family!

Well its been awhile since I've posted...Kyle made it through finals, thank goodness, and now he's putting in more hours at the credit union since he's not at school. As for me, I've just been keeping myself busy doing a little christmas shopping :) and working at the bank!
We wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! It will be our first Christmas together as newly weds...yipee!!! Its crazy to think that Kyle and I got back together around this time last year. Its been an amazing year and I'm so thankful to have him in my life. The Lord has truly blessed me.
We're planning on going up north on the 26th and staying for a couple of days so I'll post some of our adventures when we get back...

Thanksgiving away from home....

Well it was mine and Kyle's first Thanksgiving together and unfortunately with our work schedules we were unable to make it up north to be with our family. So instead, Mike (he works with Kyle) invited us to go to Vegas and spend Thanksgiving with his family. We left Wednesday and drove down......We had a little free time that night so we drove the strip and went shopping at the forum shops. We even had time to make a stop at the little white chapel for a picture. Overall it was a fun thanksgiving. It was a little different not being with family during a holiday, but we're glad we were able to spend it with friends.

Tuesday after work, Britget came over and we made some pies to take down to Vegas with us for Thanksgiving. It was our first time making pies by ourselves, and I think we pulled it off....although my sister would like you to believe I can't cook.... Snow Canyon Caves

Last Saturday after work, Kyle I went with some friends to Snow Canyon State Park. It was so nice to get outside instead of being stuck in an office all day long. We headed down into the cave and it was pretty narrow and really dark. Bart was the only smart one who brought a flash light and the glow-sticks that we spent an hour hunting down, got left in the car....... so need less to say it was pretty hard finding our way around with 8 other people. On the way back out, we encounter a little problem....or may I say "large" problem. An older lady had gone down in the caves with her kids. She was not in the best of shape and carrying a couple extra pounds. So Kyle and some of the guys had to help hoist her out. Oh and to make matters even better, she had a huge tear in the back of her pants (Kyle enjoyed the view....just kidding babe!!! ha ha ha)....They finally got her out of the cave, and of course she had to stop for a smoke break cause it was pretty exhausting. I seriously don't know what she was thinking......Anyway we had a lot of fun :)

We'll Miss You Grandpa

On October 30, 2008, I got a call from my mom telling me that my grandma had just passed away. I had been preparing myself all week for the news, but the tears began to fall. Its hard losing a man that has been a part of my life for 22 years.

As we headed up north, I was dreading it. Knowing the reason for our trip made it hard and I kept telling Kyle I didn't want to go. The part I dreaded the most was when I would walk into my grandma's house and not see grandpa sitting in the living room watching tv like he had been almost everytime I went to visit.

The funeral services were perfect. My dad, VaunaDee, and Chris spoke. All the girls sang love at home, and then for the closing song Crae, dad, Chris, and Doug sang a medley of country songs. The last song they sang was happy trails; a song that will forever remind me of the times I spent up at grandpas house.

Its times like these that I realize what an amazing family I have and I'm so greatful for that. As I listen to my dad speak about memories of his dad, it made me think of how hard it would be to lose a parent, no matter the age. I just hope I never have to see that day.

I looked up and admired my grandpa; his sense of humor, his work ethic, his love for his family, and of course grandpa would not be grandpa without his temper. Here are a couple memories I have that I will always hold dear of my grandpa:

Driving down creamery lane and seeing him on his 4-wheeler or tractor feeding the cows or just driving through the herd
Grandpa always had a belly and he would tell us granchildren that he swallowed a watermelon seed and it was growing inside of him
Cooking a nice hamburger late at night for dinner with plenty of pepper
Driving up and seeing him on the front porch, listening to music, watching his cows, peacocks or hores, or whittling canes. After a horse ride, I would always go sit with him and talk for awhile
He would always call me jelly and ask if I had brought him some beer.....why?? I have no idea
His crazy comb over hair.....that when it was actually combed :O
And of course his jokes!!!

Peach Party and Birthdays

It been forever since I've been able to blog. So much has happened. I've gotten married, been on a honeymoon to Mexico, moved to St. George and been chillin down here for about a week and a half now. I haven't received my pictures from my wedding yet so I haven't been able to post anything....And my cable for my camera is back in good ole' Coalville so It will be about another 2 weeks before I get it. So I borrowed some pics off of Anne's camera and hopefully I'll put some others up soon. St. George has been fun. Its been a lot of changes but Kyle and I are enjoying it.

Last Friday, Kyle and I woke up early and went and picked peaches in Hurricane for a little church service. We took some peaches home for ourselves and on Saturday we had a massive 4 hr peach party at Jace and Anne's house. We made a ton of jam and canned so peaches. It was hard work, but a tons of fun. I've never made my own jam before. I've always had my mom there telling me what to do and I was her little helper so it was a really good experience for me.

Well I figured since I have 2 spare secods I would hurry and write a post. I have been so crazy busy trying to get invitations out and little things done for the wedding plus work on top of that that I feel like I'm losing my mind!!!!

This week is Miss Summit County tryouts so I've had workshops every night. The pageant is Thursday where I will give away my crown to the next title holder. It crazy cause kyle and I waited for this week to get here cuz that meant we could finally get married and I could have my money. But now that the date is finally here, I'm a little sad. It crazy how fast this year has gone by. I have had so many fun experiences being in the pageant and representing my county these past couple of years. Not many girls can say that they have the chance to eat dirt falling off a yearling bull at the little backaroo :) And as sad as I am I'm excited to see what the rest of my life has in store for me. I want to wish all the contestants the best of luck on Thursday!!!

So I just wanted to say thanks to my Future Hubby!!!! I was crazy busy at work yesterday with 6 back to back appointments and no lunch in between. By the end of the day I was exhausted and ready to go home. I picked up the phone to text Kyle letting him know I was done. I put my phone down, turned around and there he was holding a rose in his hand!!! It was the cutest thing and I was so happy to see him!!! It totally made my day!!!! Thanks babe for being so thoughtful!!! You're amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better fiance!!! I love you!

Las Vegas

This weekend I went down to Vegas with a couple of girls. We went to the Esthetic, Cosmetic and Spa conference. It was huge and I bought way too much stuff. After 4 days in Vegas in the middle of the Summer I was glad to come home.

The past couple of weeks Kyle and I have been 4 wheeling a lot. We found this really cool spot in the mountains by my house. There's a pond and clearing that is perfect for a fire and camping. The only bad part is there is tons and tons of cow crap and you end up with it all over. We'll have to take care of that one some how. We've been taking all our friends up there to show them so here are some pics

Now doesn't that look comfortable!!! We decided to sleep out on the tramp the night that Jesse and Abby came up and boy did we get a great nights rest. Jesse and Kyle slept on the outside and me and Abby slept in the middle I think I had to wake Kyle up at least 3 times and tell him to move over so I could at least turn on my side.

So I've been working all day on this slide show....with a little help from Jen and I managed to scrapbook 4 pages on photoshop! Yea!!! I think I've had enough today... so I'm taking a break and I'll finish some more later.

Fiji was amazing!!! We had a really good time laying out at the beach, snorkeling, cooking easy mac, and shopping at the local market (that was a little scary!!!). After living Saturday twice and a long plane ride, we finally made it home safe and sound with a lovely tan :)! I hoping maybe one day I'll get to go back.

Kyle picked it out himself. I had no idea that he had picked out the ring nearly a week before he proposed. I must say that the ring is perfect. He did an amazing job finding this princess cut diamond. It is stunning and I just love it. I am so excited to start the planning for the big day.
